Award Application


Sponsored by The Living Language Institute Foundation
One award of $500 will be provided in each calendar year

Eligibility

Applicants must be

  • Canadian citizens or permanent residents OR protected persons under subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada)
  • Enrolled in, or have applied for admission for full- or part-time study at a Canadian post-secondary institution

Application

Applicants must submit to the LLIF Awards Committee

  • Evidence that they meet the eligibility requirements
  • A proposed program of study that may include examining existing scholarship, elder care policies, institutional structures, intervention studies, practitioner wisdom, and family experiences that contribute to respectful and dignified care for elders
  • A description of the study’s contribution to the individual’s growth and a plan for dissemination to others in the field of elder care
  • A brief biography that provides evidence of the applicant’s commitment to creating a caring society

Review Process

  • Applications can be submitted by e-mail to LivingLanguageIF@gmail.com.
  • Only completed applications (eligibility evidence, program of study, biography) will be considered.
  • Applications must be received by the Awards Committee by July 1 for consideration for that year’s award.
  • The Committee will review the submissions and notify applicants of their decision by Sept. 1.

Dorothy-Jean O’Donnell was a lawyer and social activist. She was a long serving director of The Living Language Institute Foundation. We anticipate that the recipient of this award will continue her generous work.
